• Back To School Drive   

RJOC organizes sponsors in an effort to provide school supplies, backpacks, and shoes for several local kids in the Partners in Self Sufficiency program in Pinellas County. Thanks to our sponsors, these children have everything that they need for a successful the school year.
• Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH)

The Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) offers an opportunity for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to present their thoughts in the community, gaining skills, which can only come from signing or speaking to a large audience.    » Click here for more information about CCDHH
• Christmas Gift Giving Program and Party

Through the Partners In Self Sufficiency (PSS), we provide support to children of financially-burdened families through our Christmas Gift Giving Program. Our participants provide presents to the families at Christmas time to alleviate this burden on the parents of having to buy gifts.
• Get Downtown - First Friday

Once a year, members and volunteers help RJOC pour beer and wine during two-hour shifts at the Get Downtown St. Pete Jazz Block party. The goal is to raise money in tips to support a variety of causes for children.
• Junior Golf Program

The Optimist Junior Golf Program is an exciting and unique junior golf program for ages 10-18. More than 5,000 boys and girls throughout the United States and Canada and in several foreign countries compete in official Optimist qualifying tournaments.    » Click here for more information about the Junion Golf Program
• Oratorical Contest

The Optimist Oratorical Contest gives youngsters the chance to speak to the world. More than $150,000 in college scholarships are awarded annually from this program. The winners at the Club level receive medallions and Zone winners receive a plaque. Districts have the opportunity to provide two $1,500 scholarships or a first place scholarship of $1,500, a second place scholarship of $1,000, and a third place scholarship of $500.    » Click here for more information about the Oratorical Contest
• Respect For Law

In July 1965, a discussion between Past Optimist International President Carl Bowen and former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover resulted in the birth of the Respect for Law program. This is the fourth most popular program with more than 1,500 clubs participating last year. Inspire respect for the law among your local young people! This motivational program can be a community rally against local violence, a get-acquainted event between youth and local law enforcement officials, or a "what peace means to me" poster contest for young kids.    » Click here for more information about Respect for Law
• Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC)

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a free "home away from home" for the families of children requiring in-patient care in hospitals and hospices across the world. RJOC cooks and serves dinner for the guests.    » Click here for more information about RMHC
